Hulu’s ‘Black Friday’ Discount Remains a Must-Grab Deal for Streamers – Technologist

One prediction I’m comfortable making right now: You’re going to see a lot of “discounts” during the holiday shopping season.

It’s that time of year! And, while many people may focus on big-ticket items, it’s worth noting those promotional offers also extend to smaller purchases like streaming TV subscriptions.

Hulu has been at the forefront of this strategy for several years, presenting an annual Black Friday deal that is among the best in the industry.

You’ll be happy to know that it has returned for 2024! And Disney+ is also involved this year!

But, you’ll want to act fast. This deal is gone by the end of Cyber Monday.

Hulu and Disney+ Offer Great ‘Black Friday’ Discounts in 2024

It’s time for Hulu’s annual sale on its ad-supported subscription tier.

For a very limited time, you can score a great deal on Hulu and Disney+ streaming subscriptions:

  • Hulu with Ads: $0.99 per month for one year. This is a major discount from the regular price of $9.99 per month. If you stick with this deal for all 12 months, you’ll save $108!
  • Disney Bundle Duo Basic (Hulu with Ads + Disney+ with Ads): $2.99 per month for one year. This also is a big discount from the bundle’s regular price of $10.99 per month. You’ll save $96 on this bundle for the year. But it’s worth noting that the bundle itself is a pretty significant discount from the regular prices if you paid for Hulu and Disney+ seperately.

This deal, which comes once a year, is live now and available until 11:59 PM PST on Monday, December 2. That means you have through the very end of Cyber Monday to take advantage.

Eligibility Notes from the Fine Print

Unfortunately, not everyone will qualify for this deal. It is intended for new and select returning customers.

A quick look at the fine print of the offer helps define eligiblity:

  • Offer valid for new and eligible returning Hulu and Disney+ subscribers (who have not been Hulu or Disney+ subscribers in the past 1 month)
  • Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu, and Disney Bundle subscribers are not eligible.

It’s worth noting that you’re not committing to paying for the full year upfront with this deal. You’ll pay as you go with your discounted rate.

  • Cancel anytime, effective at the end of your billing period.
  • No refunds or credits for partial months.

And, finally, you should note that your subscription will auto-renew at the regular monthly price once your 12-month promotional period is over.

What Sets This Deal Apart from Others?

You’ll see plenty of discounted streaming TV subscriptions as a part of holiday promotions, but they’re not all created equal.

I’ve noticed that many of them offer a low monthly rate for a short period of time.

For example, rival service Paramount+ is offering Paramount+ Essential OR Paramount+ with SHOWTIME for $2.99 per month for the first 2 months.

That’s a great price on the first two months, but you’ll be back to paying their full price by February.

This Hulu deal has the potential to keep you on a super cheap plan until Thanksgiving 2025. And, if you have more than one person in the household, you may be able to “rotate” who gets this deal from year to year to qualify as a returning subscriber.
