RedPocket Flash Sale: Four Free Months With 10GB Annual Plan – Technologist
Around Black Friday, RedPocket Mobile announced several “Holiday Specials” on monthly and annual plans. While those discounts are still available, RedPocket has added a new “Flash Sale” on its 10GB annual plan: Pay for eight months, get four free.
In this article, I’ll take a closer look at RedPocket’s 10GB annual plan including what you’ll get for the price and how it compares to other affordable cell phone plans.
Save $80 Your First Year on RedPocket’s 10GB Plan
RedPocket Mobile (Team Clark’s Review) offers four different cell phone plans that you can purchase monthly or annually. For a limited time, new RedPocket customers can take advantage of “Holiday Specials” which include 50% off your first month of service on plans with 10GB of high-speed data or more or two free months with the purchase of any annual plan. You can check out the full details of these deals here.
However, more recently, RedPocket has also added a Flash Sale on its 10GB annual plan: $160 for your first year of service. That’s the equivalent of paying for eight months of service and getting four months free!
RedPocket’s 10GB plan is available for $20/month at regular rates. When you purchase the annual plan during the current Flash Sale, you’ll save $80 total on a year of service! Paying $160 upfront works out to be $13.33/month before taxes and fees for RedPocket’s 10GB plan.
Here’s what you’ll get with the annual 10GB plan:
- Unlimited talk & text
- 10GB of high-speed data per month followed by unlimited data at slower speeds
- Your choice of any major network
- Average 4G LTE download speeds: 12-78 Mbps
- Average 5G download speeds: 53-304 Mbps
- Average 5G+ download speeds: 167-474 Mbps
- Free international calling to 20+ countries
It is important to note that this plan doesn’t include any mobile hotspot data. After your first year of service, the annual plan will renew at its regular rate of $220 ($18.33/month). To get this deal or to learn more about RedPocket’s Holiday Specials, visit the company’s website.
RedPocket Mobile is a prepaid cell phone service provider and you can cancel your service at any time.
RedPocket Mobile: A Flexible, Affordable MVNO
If you aren’t familiar with RedPocket, it’s an MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) that provides access to the major cell phone network of your choice. Whether you have the best service in your area with AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon, you can choose to keep the same service with RedPocket.
Compared to postpaid plans directly from any of the major cell phone service providers, RedPocket Mobile offers excellent prices. T-Mobile’s plans begin at $50 per line per month with Essentials Savers (autopay required) while AT&T and Verizon’s plans begin at $65 per line per month with autopay. While you’ll get more high-speed data and additional postpaid benefits with these plans, you’ll find cheaper prices with RedPocket.
When it comes to other prepaid phone plans, RedPocket still offers some of the best rates. This is especially true with RedPocket’s current Flash Sale on its annual 10GB plan ($160 for 12 months; $13.33/month). To compare, here are a few of our other favorite affordable cell phone plans with 10GB of high-speed data:
- Tello Mobile (Review): 10GB of high-speed data plus unlimited talk & text for $19/month. Once you reach your high-speed data allotment for the month, you won’t have access to any cellular data until your next billing cycle unless you buy more.
- US Mobile (Review): By-The-Gig plans include a 10GB option for $20/month. Add additional lines and share the data for $8 per line.
- Twigby (Review): New customers can get a 10GB plan for $10/month for the first three months. After three months, the same plan is available for $25/month.
Other phone service providers including H2O Wireless, Tracfone and Ultra Mobile also offer 10GB annual plans that are available for as low as $25/month at regular rates. Even at RedPocket’s regular monthly plan rate of $20 for 10GB, it’s still a better deal! Even more expensive 10GB plans are available from Consumer Cellular and Straight Talk ($35/month) as well as from Cricket Wireless, Metro by T-Mobile and T-Mobile Prepaid ($40/month).
