Tello Mobile Deal: Unlimited Talk, Text & 5GB for $10 – Technologist

Tello Mobile (Review) offers some of the cheapest monthly phone plans with limited talk-and-text-only options beginning as low as $5. Now through November 30, Tello Mobile is offering one month of unlimited talk and text plus 5GB of data for only $10. 

In this article, I’ll share everything we know about Tello Mobile’s latest deal including who’s eligible and what you’ll get for the price.

Get a Month of Cell Phone Service for $10 From Tello Mobile

For a limited time (through November 30), new customers and existing customers adding a new line can get a month of Tello’s 5GB plan for a discounted rate.

Here’s what you’ll get for $10 your first month with Tello’s current promotion: 

• Unlimited talk and text
• 5GB mobile data
• Access to T-Mobile’s 5G network
• Typical download speeds: 79-357 Mbps (5G) 13-61 Mbps (4G)
• Mobile hotspot (shared from your mobile data allotment)
• Wi-Fi calling
• Free international calls to 60+ countries

After the first month, the plan rate will return to normal ($14/month). It’s also worth noting that once you’ve used your 5GB of data for the month, you won’t have access to any more mobile data until the following billing cycle unless you pay to add more.

Tello Mobile: An Affordable T-Mobile MVNO

If you aren’t familiar with Tello, it’s an MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) that uses T-Mobile’s network to deliver service to its customers at a major discount. If you have service in your area from T-Mobile, you’ll likely also be covered by Tello.

Other resellers and MVNOs that use T-Mobile’s towers include Mint Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, US Mobile, Google Fi Wireless and more. 

Compared to T-Mobile itself, you’ll find an excellent price with Tello’s phone plans. T-Mobile’s unlimited postpaid plans start at $50 for one line (Essentials Saver with an autopay discount). While you’ll get more high-speed data and additional postpaid benefits, you’ll find a much better price with Tello’s $25 unlimited plan (35GB of high-speed data per month). 

Compared to other prepaid plans, Tello Mobile’s prices are still competitive. This is especially true with the current new customer/new line offer for $10 the first month. Even after the promotion expires, Tello’s $14/month regular rate for the 5GB plan is still excellent. Here are a few 5GB plans from other affordable providers on T-Mobile’s network:

• Connect by T-Mobile (Review): $15/month for 5GB data plus unlimited talk and text.
• US Mobile (Review): $15/month for 5GB data with US Mobile’s “By the Gig” plan. Add more lines for $8/line and share the data. Choose the “Light Speed” network to access T-Mobile’s towers.
• Mint Mobile (Review): $180 for 12 months of service ($15/month) with unlimited talk, text and 5GB of high-speed data before reduced speeds. New customers can get three months for $45 ($15/month). Additionally, now through January 2, new customers can buy two months and get one month free on this plan with promo code FREEMONTH.
