9 Best Zoom Alternatives Of 2024 – Forbes Advisor – Technologist
FreeConferenceCall.com lets you host audio conferences, video meetings or a blend between the two. While the meetings lack some of Zoom’s engagement features, you can host up to 1,000 participants for free—far more than any competitor can say.
Features
FreeConferenceCall.com’s video-conferencing features are more basic than Zoom’s, but it’s easy for anyone to sign up and begin hosting video conferences. Along with Zoom, FreeConferenceCall provides you with an anytime meeting link that you can easily share with people to meet now or schedule a meeting for later.
The FreeConferenceCall user dashboard is a lot simpler than Zoom. It has no team chat or calendar integrations—just options to “Meet Now” or “Join a Meeting.” In-meeting, FreeConferenceCall only offers a few basic features: screen sharing, chat and a whiteboard feature that I found disappointing and lackluster.
However, FreeConferenceCall lets you host audio meetings with audio dial-in—a feature that Zoom only includes on paid plans. Further, you can invite up to 1,000 participants to FreeConferenceCall.com meetings, while Zoom’s free plan limits you to 100.

Pricing
As you may have guessed, FreeConferenceCall.com is free. The platform asks for donations to keep it free for other users, but this is optional. FreeConferenceCall also offers a paid plan but, in our opinion, its features don’t justify the price.
Zoom’s free plan is a better value overall than FreeConferenceCall due to its more extensive feature offering. However, FreeConferenceCall makes a good choice for companies seeking to host conference calls, or meetings of over 100 participants, for free.
Customer Service
FreeConferenceCall offers some self-help video guides and articles in its Support Center. Users can also email support or submit a ticket request. Its help page mentions 24/7 chat support, but despite multiple attempts, I’ve never been able to reach a live agent.
By contrast, Zoom’s free plan doesn’t offer any live support. However, Zoom’s free self-service guides, videos and community are more thorough than FreeConferenceCall.com’s.
Reputation
Compared to Zoom, FreeConferenceCall.com has far fewer reviews on sites such as GetApp and Capterra. However, FreeConferenceCall’s average ratings are comparable to Zoom’s, which is a good sign. Customers appreciate the large meeting capacity, but some complain of dropped calls or difficulty dialing in.
